Olivia's Anniversary Dress Reproduction

I made a couple changes to the design, as usual - giving the dress my own touches - shorter sleeves, ties in back so that I didn't have to use a zipper, and a slightly curved waist yoke instead of VV shaped, and the ties at the neck are a little longer...but, the basic look was inspired by Olivia's green anniversary dress from the Walton's TV show.  You can see pictures of the original HERE.   I used a moleskin in a medium/dark sage/blue-green color.  Lovely drape, with a nice feel and weight to it.  Paired with my vintage 'clutch' and little black heels for an evening out when we celebrate our anniversary that's coming up soon : )

Your dress has such a pretty drape. I think it's hard to find dressy dress fabric....so much quilting cotton out there. I love q.c. for everyday (so many pretty prints) but it feels a little mundane for church and outings.

I like that you cut the pattern and put a skirt on it.. Good idea.
I wore my muslin of this dress to church Sunday.. Very comfortable and cool. I am still searching for the Black or green fabric to do the real dress.Just havent run into it yet??
This really looks like Olivia's anniversay dress.
Happy Anniversay to you and your hubby. Hope you have a good one..
