We change our pillow cases twice a week. The sheets are changed once every week or two. So, we need extra pillow cases. Our room is lavender. I look for purple sheets and pillowcases every where I go. Purple, lavender, violet, etc. It's not the easiest colors to find, but they turn up in unexpected places, like the farthest back corner of Reny's. They were twin flat sheets. 400 thread count. I thought, "How easy to make pillowcases out of these!"
I could get four pillowcases out of one twin flat sheet. Now we have plenty of extra pillowcases : )

On our 14th anniversary all of our pillowcases seemed to fall apart at once. I've been embroidering up a storm on solid white fabric and have a set of pillowcases out of small green print on the sewing machine as we speak.
How pretty! What a lovely idea! I think I will put pillowcases on my list of things to make soon. We also change our sheets every week or two but new pillowcases more often would be so nice!
how fresh than would be! Never thought of changing the pillowcases more often than the sheets. I just change the whole set once a week.
