I liked the collar. I modified the skirt, making it longer and a-line.
The fabric is a thin cotton. Five yards for $5.00 - at that price I couldn't leave without it. Even though it's not a fine quality, it will wear well enough for a season : )

I love the print and color with that collar - great combination. Why a short sleeve dress in winter? Do you wear a cardi then?
One of my pet peeves is wearing long sleeves with a sweater. I can't stand having the sleeves bunched up, or twisted, etc. And I'm almost always wearing a cardigan all winter - it's just too cold for me here in Maine ; ) Plus, if the dress has short sleeves it's still appropriate to wear in other seasons too.
I think for a strictly winter garment, made out of corduroy or flannel, I would put on long sleeves - or at least 3/4 length : )
its really pretty and I agree I despise having my sleeves caught up in a sweater. :) Love the collar a lot! great sewing job!
