Red Silk Evening Set

Here, finally, are pictures of the silk skirt and cashmere sweater set - the outfit I wore to the ATS dinner party last winter.  It's red dupioni silk, vintage 6-gore skirt pattern, just 2 inches shy of floor length.  It's lovely to wear! It makes a soft 'swishing' sound when you walk.
I love this sweater set because the shell has sleeves.  It's harder to find sets that way.  I can wear this set with or without the cardigan : )  I wanted a corsage for my sweater so  I made a flower out of ribbon.  It's an idea I saw in a Martha Stewart magazine.  If you have a ribbon with the wire, all you have to do is pull the wire on the one edge to gather the ribbon into a rosette.
My friend came and marked the hem for me while I was wearing the skirt so that it would be just the right length all the way around - it's a bit longer in the back to compensate for the heels of my shoes.
I had found just the right shoes too.  Mary Jane style, two inch heels, simple, and elegant : )

I love-love-love this look! I have a lavender skirt much like this one hiding away in my closet waiting for the perfect occasion to pair with just what you have, a black cardigan set.

I think these classic timeless looks are just such an elegant way to go! : )

I had to smile when I saw the shoes, I have a pair almost just like them, I can't wear them now because of my back but I'm keeping them still for the future.

Enjoying your blog as always dear one, and thank you for that sweet comment on my forest cathedral...the roof is on! : D

I know you must have looked so lovely on your special event there! It's great fun to see blog friends who like the same things, it's like chatting over tea or coffee! Blessings! : )
