Here, finally, are pictures of the silk skirt and cashmere sweater set - the outfit I wore to the ATS dinner party last winter. It's red dupioni silk, vintage 6-gore skirt pattern, just 2 inches shy of floor length. It's lovely to wear! It makes a soft 'swishing' sound when you walk.
I love this sweater set because the shell has sleeves. It's harder to find sets that way. I can wear this set with or without the cardigan : ) I wanted a corsage for my sweater so I made a flower out of ribbon. It's an idea I saw in a Martha Stewart magazine. If you have a ribbon with the wire, all you have to do is pull the wire on the one edge to gather the ribbon into a rosette.
My friend came and marked the hem for me while I was wearing the skirt so that it would be just the right length all the way around - it's a bit longer in the back to compensate for the heels of my shoes.
I had found just the right shoes too. Mary Jane style, two inch heels, simple, and elegant : )
Anyone may use my pictures and/or quote from my blog! If you want to give credit to me that's great : ) I started this blog just to record what I would normally write in my journal - so if that inspires you or makes you happy - that makes me happy too!
